NEWSAFCON 2021: Blame Buhari, Okoye – Nigerians react as Super Eagles crash outPublished on January 23, 2022 By Precious Anigala

Some Nigerians have reacted to the elimination of Super Eagles from the Africa Cup of Nations 2021.

Nigeria crashed out of AFCON after a 0-1 loss to the North African side, Tunisia.

A goalkeeping error from Maduka Okoye gave the Carthage Eagles the goal a few minutes into the second half.

However, some Nigerians have blamed the loss on President Muhammadu Buhari for his video call with the Super Eagles earlier before the match.

Others called out Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye for not saving the goal that gave the Tunisians the victory.

Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST from Twitter;

@Opemidimeji “ This ref is biased, this game is rigged.”

@Iamprajzed “ Uzoho is still our best goalkeeper. This fine boy never faced anything but I knew the moment he’s faced with shots, he’ll shrink. Oh yeah. You have it already.”

@ToyosiGodwin “ Buhari can’t just get anything right. Called out players and now we are a mess.”

@EditiEffiong “ When Eguavoen was taking off Iheanacho, I said it’s bad game management. When you’re playing knockout football, you wait before changes due to the potential of extra time.”

@Shola “Super Eagles won their 3 matches without video call from the president. Heard they had a video call with the president today.”

@UgwunnaEjikem “ It’s also imperative to note that the Super Eagles are losing for the first time in this tournament after President Buhari spoke to them via Video Call.I prefer not to speak.”

@Ajafrique “ On a normal day, a good goalkeeper will save that ball. The boys ready to drag Okoye this evening.”

@JakeEjiro “ If we attempt to make use of Okoye as our World Cup keeper we won’t even qualify for the group stage.”

@Asiwaju Lerry “ Wallahi na Big Brother Naija this Maduka Okoye suppose go, he has no business being Super Eagles goalkeeper.”

@Sammiescot “Allowing Buhari speak to the players was the first mistake Super Eagles made.”

@Sastune “ Tactical error from the coaches killed this game for the Eagles even after Okoye did his.”

@Violenceaspic “ Immediately Buhari called those boys, I know say wahala don dey.”

@Dinstots “ Overconfidence killed the Super Eagles.”

2023: Osinbajo is APC’s best for presidency, says Babangida Aliyu

Babangida Aliyu, former Niger governor, says Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is the best person the All Progressives Congress (APC) can present as a candidate for the 2023 presidential election. Aliyu said this on Tuesday at the 2022 annual lecture of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation held in Kano state. According to Punch, the former governor said “riff-raffs or moneybags” will not get to the highest office in the land, even if they offer money in the 2023 election. “Mr vice-president, do you know you are the best candidate in your party?” he asked, describing Osinbajo as the only candidate that knows the country and has wide acceptance, regardless of tribe and religion. On his part, Sidi Bage, Emir of Lafia, also praised the vice-president and promised that Nasarawa state would give him all the necessary support to enable him to become the next president. “Mr vice-president, wherever you go, we will follow,” he added. Although Osinbajo hasn’t expressed interest in running fo...

“It’s very rare for a woman to have fake love for a man” – Reno Omokri

“It’s very rare for a woman to have fake love for a man” – Reno Omokri Published by Champreneur  Nigerian lawyer and author,  Reno Omokri , has argued that it’s extremely uncommon for a woman to feign her love for a man. The former presidential aide, who made this assertion in a post via his Instagram page, opined that men who think women have fake love for them don’t have money and their thoughts are clouded by their poverty mentality. According to him, while there’s fake love, the vast majority of women have either real or true love. In his words, “It is very, very, rare for a woman to have fake love for a man. Men who think that way usually don’t have money, therefore poverty has affected their mentality. While there is fake love, the vast majority of women have either real or true love. But there is a big difference between real love and true love. If you have money, a girl may develop real love for you. She is not faking it. It is genuine. However, if you become broke, th...
